OUR STORY

We’re Madison & David, a dynamic duo living in the PNW and the creators behind Cottrell & Co. Events. We got engaged 6 months after we met (crazy, we know!) and each coming from creative backgrounds, decided to plan our own wedding and haven’t looked back since. We love getting to create those unforgettable moments that are uniquely you, whether that’s an epic dessert display or finding the best ways to weave in the most meaningful details into your big day. Think of us as your new best friends who are just as invested in your celebration as you are! In our off time, you can find us snuggling our rescue pup, Murphy, debating over what movie to watch, or enjoying the great outdoors.

    Madison has loved all things creative ever since she was a little girl. Choosing to initially pursue a career in the arts as a professional ballet dancer, her strengths lie in meticulous attention to detail, thinking outside the box, and making the difficult look effortless. After a career-ending injury, Madison transferred those skills to the world of weddings, inspired from planning a number of events for the arts community. and then her own wedding soon after. Madison views wedding planning as an art form and loves that her unique background allows her to continue to work with so many creative souls and finds so much joy in sharing that art with others. Madison most recently served as an Associate Planner with GATHER Events from 2019-2021 before starting Cottrell & Co. Events.

David Cottrell

    David grew up with a musical theatre background and comes from a family of creatives, being one of 5 kids. Over the years, he has successfully been able to pursue his talents in media design for a number of organizations. His ability to combine his numerous creative passions with his love of research and quick wit has allowed him to become the organizational mastermind when it comes to our back-end operations. Whether it’s creating the most detailed of spreadsheets, his eagle eye for design, or setting up an installation, David is a key piece to making sure your day goes off without a hitch!
